Why is CPR training so important?
Did you know that whilst 74% of people have learned how to perform CPR – only 44% feel confident in performing it in a life-threatening situation? Here at Defib World we believe CPR is an essential skill that should be taught to everyone in schools, colleges, sports clubs, professional companies and more besides. Doing CPR and using a defibrillator as early as possible can more than double the chances of surviving an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
CPR manikins are crucial in giving learners a real-life experience that helps them utilise training in a safe environment. CPR or cardiopulmonary resuscitation is vital in limiting any long-term damage to the brain the moments up to medical attention is available. With the use of lifelike manikins you can gain the confidence and the experience to help save lives.
What are the seven steps of CPR in order?
The seven essential steps taught in any reputable CPR training course are:
- Clear the scene
- Check the casualty is fully unconscious by shaking them or speaking loudly
- Retrieve an AED and use it as quickly as possible
- Check their breathing
- Do chest compressions at a rate of 120 per minute
- Give two rescue breaths
- Continue alternating chest compressions and rescue breaths until first aid responders arrive
Our Range of Training Equipment
It will be nearly impossible for students to learn the proper CPR method without the right training. By demonstrating hand postures and pressure techniques, students get a better idea of how to use CPR effectively. A manikin is the greatest simulation tool for instructing interns in various CPR techniques. Please see below our best sellers:
Half Body Training Manikin: Practi-Man Advanced CPR Manikin With Bag
The Practi-Man CPR Standard Manikin is an affordable, lightweight yet strudy manikin. It can be used to teach CPR on adults and Children simply by changing the switch on the back of the Manikin. All the practiman range have a valve system whcih is designed to force the air through to the back of the head, this provides additional infection control protection and allows you to chnage the lungs each course rather than between students.
Infant Training Manikin: Practi-Baby Infant Manikin with Bag
The Practi-Baby proivdes realistic training of Infant CPR which includes an airway system vents air through back of manikin giving increased infection control. This latest manikin from Practi-Man is the most life-like infant manikin on the market and comes with a jacket and shorts that can be easily removed for washing. The manikin can be moved into various positions including sitting and the head moves side-to-side and the tilt allows correct head placement when opening the airway.
What are feedback manikins?
These CPR feedback devices or manikins provide audio and/or visual feedback for the rate and depth of compressions while training to improve student performance. Feedback devices can provide a clear and objective evaluation of aspects of CPR like rate, depth recoil, chest compression fraction and ventilation rate. Please see below our best sellers:
Full body Manikin with feedback: Laerdal Resusci® Anne QCPR AED Training Manikin
Airway occlusion for students to learn the important technique of opening the airway with the head tilt/chin lift and jaw thrust manoeuvre. Feedback is available through purchasing the SkillGuide or downloading the free QCPR Learner and QCPR Instructor apps available from Apple App Store or Google Play Store. With the app, the instructor gets a performance overview of up to six manikins, at the same time. Using their own observations and the objective feedback from the app, the instructor can quickly and effectively coach the learners to improve.
Junior Manikin with feedback: Laerdal Junior Manikin QCPR
The Laerdal Little Junior QCPR Manikin is ideal for practicing lifesaving techniques on in a training setting, including CPR chest compressions and defibrillation. Designed for use with the Laerdal QCPR app, this innovative manikin allows you to monitor and coach lifesaving CPR to six learners at once.
Blood circulation indicators: Brayden CPR Manikin with Red Illumination Lights
The Brayden CPR manikin is the first ever manikin to demonstrate the visual flow of blood from the heart, to the brain during CPR. Training students will easily learn how to execute proper and correct CPR in time of need, but also remember the purpose, the vital importance of the correct and execution of CPR
Winner of the prestigious IF Design Award 2016, the Brayden CPR manikin uses 3 interrelated sets of LED Lights to give real time feedback of CPR performance & function
Blood Circulation Indicating Lights
These illuminate to represent the flow of the blood from the heart to the brain. The speed of the blood flow shown varies according to the depth and speed of the compressions. These will only fully light once the rate of compressions is over 100 per minute.
Chest Compression Indicating Lights
These illuminate to represent the volume of blood being circulated by the chest compressions. This volume depends on the depth of compressions. These will only fully light when the depth of compressions is over 5cm.
